This beautiful fireplace will be hand carved in a traditional style and would suit traditional or modern homes. As you can see from the photographs, its perfect for a multi fuel stoves or woodburners to sit nicely within its opening or perhaps a fire basket with a roaring open fire.

Every fireplace would be unique as the stone is locally sourced and as a natural material will contain some fossiling from the sea bed minerals and creatures and veining dating back to 145 million years ago.

The aperture of a standard size Melanite fireplace is 850mm high from the top of the stone hearths. The height of the hearths are 50mm and the width of the opening is 800mm.

The widest point of this design is 1410mm this being the hearths and mantlepiece/shelf.

The Melanite Bath stone fireplace listed will be in sections as follows:

1 mantlepiece - 1470mm x 160mm x 70mm

1 lintel - 1350mm x 300mm x 100mm

2 uprights/legs 800mm x 225mm x 100mm

3 piece outer Bath stone hearth chamfered- totalling 1470mm x 400mm x 50mm (plus recommended 10mm mortar bed).

A inner back floor hearth where a stove or a fire basket would sit upon is not included but can be purchased seperately (please see our hearth listings) or contact us if your size is not there for additional costing.

NO stone lined chambers are included - these start from an additional £400.00 size dependant.

We can forward a small sample of the Bath stone so you can see the colouring and texture of the Bath stone once dry.

We only offer solid Bath stone hearths you are welcome to purchase the surround without hearths for a reduced costing if you have your own hearths already in situ like the customer who had their own black hearths.

As with all our Bath stone surrounds, stone mix mortar will be supplied for all joints, fixing brackets, steel dowel and resin and full installation instructions will be included. We are happy to be contacted on 07976 240893 to offer any advice on the purchase
