The Onyx – Hand‑Carved Natural Bath Stone Fireplace Surround

The Onyx is a beautifully crafted surround, hand carved from solid blocks of natural English Bath stone. Its traditional styling makes it equally at home in modern or period properties, and it provides a striking setting for woodburners, multi‑fuel stoves, or a roaring open fire.

Aperture (Opening Size)

• 850mm high (from the top of the bedded stone hearths to the underside of the lintel)

• 800mm wide

• Hearth height: 50mm plus 10mm recommended mortar bed

Overall Height

• 1200mm from floor level to the top of the mantlepiece

• Mantlepiece: 1370mm × 150mm × 65mm

• Lintel: 1250mm × 225mm × 110mm

• Uprights / legs: 750mm × 225mm × 110mm

• Base blocks (plain): 245mm × 100mm × 120mm (sit beneath uprights)

• Outer hearth (3 pieces): 1350mm × 400mm × 50mm

Lead Time

Delivery or collection is typically 5–6 weeks, though this may increase during busy periods. Please check current lead times before ordering.

Some photos may show the stone appearing darker — this is simply moisture from the wet‑cutting and washing process. The stone dries back to its natural light, neutral colour within 3–4 weeks of installation.
