Hand carved solid Bath stone fireplace The Sapphire

This beautiful fireplace will be hand carved in a traditional style and would suit traditional or modern homes and is one of our most popular designs.

As you can see from the photographs, its perfect for a multi fuel stoves or woodburners to sit nicely within its opening or perhaps a fire basket with a roaring open fire.

Every fireplace would be unique as the stone is locally sourced and as a natural material will contain some fossiling from the sea bed minerals and creatures and veining dating back to 145 million years ago which is the beauty of natural stone.

The aperture of a standard size Sapphire is 800mm high from the top of the stone hearths. The height of the hearths are 50mm and the width of the opening is 700mm. The widest point of this design is 1160mm this being the hearths and mantlepiece/shelf.

The overall height is approximately 1105mm bedded from the floor to the top of the mantlepiece when bedded. The Sapphire stone fireplace is in sections as follows:

1 mantlepiece - 1160mm x 150mm x 65mm chamfered

1 lintel 1060mm x 180mm x 100mm with underside chamfer

2 uprights/legs 800mm bedded x 180mm x 100mm inside and outside chamfers

3 piece outer hearth - chamfered, totalling 1160mm x 400mm x 50mm chamfered (plus 10mm mortar bed)

A inner plain back hearth is not included in the purchase but can be purchased seperately (please see our hearth listings) or contact us if your size is not there for a personal quotation. No stone lined chamber included.

As with all our solid natural English Bath stone surrounds, stone mix mortar will be supplied for all joints, fixing brackets, steel dowels and resin and full installation instructions will be included.

We can also supply just the stone surround itself for a reduced costing if you already have your own hearths in situ or hearths purchased elsewhere please contact us prior to purchase for a costing.

There is a photo showing our surround with a customers own granite hearths to show how the stone and granite compliment each other. We only sell the natural Bath stone.
